What is music production?
Music production blends creative artistry with technical skill, encompassing songwriting, recording & mastering to transform musical concepts into high-quality, professional tracks.
Through extensive research, it has been determined that it is impossible to identify the person who first produced music. However, if you are truly interested in knowing, you are going to have to discover time travel and fly back to prehistoric times. There is evidence that early humans used simple instruments such as bone flutes to create sound and formed beats for musical pleasure. This dates back to 38,000 BC.
In modern time 1857 AD, Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville is believed to be the first person to record sound, then in 1877 Thomas Edison became the first to record and play back sound, with his invention of the Phonograph. Early 20th century “Producers”, Ben Selvin, Nathaniel Shilkret, and Bob Haring in the 1920’s/30’s acted as the first precursors, directing recordings.
Late 1950’s/early 1960’s. The first independent producer (Joe Meek) (Record producer & Songwriter) is recognized for manging a recording studio as an instrument.
Then comes…… Modern Producers, whether it is a professional studio or a bedroom studio, either way you have a person who is serious about his/her craft. Music can develop anywhere you feel inspired. With that being said, continue to make great music and never ever give up on you your dreams and goals.
