March 3, 1887 – Helen Keller (aged 6) begins receiving lessons from Anne Sullivan.

March 3, 1939 – A fast begins in Bombay. Mahatma Ghandi shows India he means business while protesting against autocratic rule.

March 3, 1991 – Rodney King suffers a severe beating from L.A. police officers. King becomes famous because the horrific act is caught on home video. This would lead to the LA Riots when the officers were found Not Guilty.

The takeaway.
Losing your sight and hearing does not mean that is the end of your story. Sometimes surpassing going above and beyond is needed to get your point across when protesting. Lastly, the fight for equality does not seem to be ending any time soon.
Note to self: Study hard, stay motivated, and when you reach that fork in the road sometimes choosing left is right.
