The month of April is recognized as Rastafari Month or Rasta Month, primarily in Jamaica. April 21 is known as “Groundation Day” which celebrates Emperor Haile Selassie visit to the island in 1966. Rastafari Month highlights Rastafari culture, heritage, and the celebrations involving music, prayer, and the community.
There are other celebrations that occur in this month. (Spiritual) It is called The Twelve Tribes of Israel: This major Rasta “mansion” begins its spiritual calendar aligning with the tribe of Reuben. (Cultural) Organizations like Jus’ Jah magazine and Empress Zaria host annual “Rasafari month” events in the month to honor heritage and indigenous wisdom.
Thank you for tuning in to today’s blog post. Stay blessed and positive. Jah Rastafari.
