One week from tomorrow is when the critical acclaim biopic Michael premiere’s in theaters.

It’s been 17 years since Michael Jackson left this earth, and it still hits people hard to this day. He was multi talented, great entertainer and overall humble person. Gone too soon.

Michael Joseph Jackson was born on the 29th of August 1958, in Gary, Indiana. He was the eighth of ten children. Both his parents were heavy into music, his mother played clarinet, cello, and piano. While his father played guitar for a local R&B group. Michael grew up in a two bedroom home along side his three sisters and five brothers.

It’s the year 1964, at the age of six Michael joined the Jackson Brothers, a band formed by their father. He initially performed as a backup player, he played the congas and Tambourine. Late 1965, Michael started sharing lead vocals with his older brother Jermaine, and that’s when the Jackson Brothers became the Jackson 5. Later that year, they would win a local talent show which Michael sang the Temptations “My Girl”, and for the next two years from ’66 to ’68 the Jackson 5 toured the Chitlin’ Circuit, opening up for well known artists such as Sam & Dave, the O’Jays, Gladys Knight and Etta James. When they were touring they would win a weekly amateur night competition at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem.

As y’all know Michael would be a forced to be reckon with, becoming the lead singer with the Jackson 5 recording great hits with Motown and Epic records. While at Motown, whom a record label head in Gary Indiana would bring them to Motown to get them signed. They recorded hit songs that everybody still know and sing to this day. “I want you back” would become their first hit, reaching number 1 on the Hot 100 Billboard, staying at the peak for four weeks. Three other songs also reached #1. “ABC”, “The Love You Save”, and “I’ll Be There”. Michael would later on grow frustrated with Motown’s refusal to grant him creative input. That’s when Epic came calling and he signed along with his brother’s, (minus Jermaine, who decided to stay and remain a Motown artist). During Michael’s stint with Epic, he became the main songwriter. He wrote “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)”, “This Place Hotel”, and “Can You Feel It”.

So, to all the fan’s of Michael Joseph Jackson, you know about his birth, his early life as a musician, and his career as a vocalist, his years with Motown and through HIStory with Epic records. To his success as a solo artist. With albums such as. “Off the Wall” 1979, “Thriller” 1982, “BAD” 1987, and many more.

“Off the Wall” is a great record, however, it was his release of “Thriller” in 1982, that would become a best-selling record worldwide. And it also became the best-selling record of all time in the US & globally. The “Thriller” record would be the first to generate seven top-ten singles on the Hot Billboard 100, including the number-one hits “Billie Jean” and “Beat It”.
