Greetings and Blessings. Art is about expressing one’s self. It don’t have to make sense, it don’t have to be liked, as long as it’s something you feel. So let’s dive into a little Art History.
90 years ago today. New York City opened its doors to a landmark exhibition, Cubism and Abstract Art. At the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) it Famously featured the “Barr’s Chart”. A flowchart that became a foundational map for understanding the evolution of Modern Art.
75 years ago today, a famous comic strip (we all grew up on) debuted in newspapers across the US. The American creator and cartoonist, Hank Ketcham, is the man behind Dennis the Menace. It becomes a successful newspaper comic strip, as well as a cartoon for television and was adapted into a live action movie.
Today, March 12 is known for the annual celebration, “Art and Found Day.” This event encourages artists to leave free original artwork in public spaces for people to find. (https://artandfoundday.com)
